We’ve probably all seen the pictures of Moraine Lake and Lake Louise at some point in our lifetimes, and we can all probably agree the photos look doctored, right? Well, for those fortunate enough to see it firsthand, it’s even more beautiful than the photos would suggest. If you haven’t been to this area before, please put it on your bucket list. It’s stunning. We stayed 3 nights just outside the town of Banff, but inside the Banff National Park, in a campground called “Two Jack Main”. We spent a day up in the Lake Louise area and another day up further in Jasper National Park. The glaciers in JNP are one of the coolest things we’ve seen in our lives. We climbed on the Columbia icefield just inside the park, and were totally glad we took the 2-hour drive from Banff. We received some much-needed rain (and snow) on Sunday afternoon and all through the night, and it seemed that the rain helped the situation with the fires and air quality over in Kootenay National Park. Shockingly, we found cover and drank beer at Banff Avenue Brewing and had a nice dinner as it poured outside. We will return to spend some time in the small little town next to Banff called “Canmore”. We only realized it existed as we left the area en route to Fernie, BC. Over and out, eh?
